Location: Harrisburg, PA
Issues: K-12 Education

Governor Tom Corbett and members of the General Assembly met today to discuss the fiscal crisis facing the Chester Upland School District.

"We are all committed to the children of this school district, and their families, to see that these students get the education they deserve,'' Corbett said after the meeting.

"It will be up to everyone,'' Corbett added, including members of the General Assembly, "to work together to find a workable, acceptable long-term solution to this problem. A solution that will make sure this problem is not repeated in the future.''

A bipartisan group of representatives and senators, many from Delaware County, met in the Governor's office in the Capitol this morning to discuss the issue.
